Molly Hobson Vaida, Owner
Molly Hobson Vaida is a gin drinking, gluten allergic, gallery nerd who loves puppies, comic books and camping.
Molly graduated from the University of Nebraska Omaha with a degree in English/ Irish Literature with an emphasis on Graphic Memoir. With a background in writing and a passion for the arts, she has worked in several non-profit institutions in Omaha including the Joslyn Art Museum and KANEKO. These opportunities allowed her to gain experience working directly with artists, collaborating with community leaders and mastering the logistics of art installation and curation.
After being furloughed in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, she had trouble finding work that was fulfilling and had impact during this challenging time. After much soul searching and invaluable support from her friends, family and husband, she decided to take the very scary plunge into business ownership.
In the short-time Landlock has been operating, Molly has made connections with over 30 individual artists and makers, managed a calendar of exhibitions that extends into 2022 and has worked to establish an aesthetic of warmth and community. By utilizing her collected skills, she hopes to create a space that will be welcoming to visitors no matter their art experience.
She looks forward to personally inviting every visitor to the Landlock Gallery and serving the great artists of the Midwest.
